Our story

Scuba Libre Adventures is the result of my long experience as an Information Technology manager in the retail industry, my love of diving and a serious motor cycle accident. This had a huge impact on me and led me through a long journey of hospitalisation, rehabilitation, the desire to change and to find myself. It also led to a resumption of trips all over the world particularly to scuba dive. When all the other activities that I practiced and loved were formally discouraged, I found huge enjoyment in scuba diving.

Then the penny dropped, giving me the inspiration and the desire to make known a wonderful place, the Mergui archipelago in Burma, which I discovered in 2016, and to share my passion for scuba diving and the countless possibilities offered here. I keep coming back to the Mergui Archipelago and falling in love with it over and over again.

My project was taking shape. The meeting of the owners of The Smiling Seahorse in Ranong was fundamental to this project of transformation, and on their cruises I deepened my knowledge of diving in Myanmar, of the dive sites, and of the management of a liveaboard dive operation. Here I had my most memorable moments both above and below the water.

After 20 years as an IT manager in one of the biggest retail companies in France, I decided to make the leap, to take over the MV Thai Sea and create Scuba Libre Adventures to satisfy my passion and especially to share it with you. Admittedly we are new players in the sector, but nonetheless we have very experienced dive guides, boat crew and a management team that has already worked for several seasons throughout the archipelago both in Burma and in Thailand’s Surin and Similan national parks. For those who already had the privilege of cruising on the MV Thai Sea, you will not be disappointed since we take the values which made it a success but with our personal french touch.

Our top priority is professionalism and safety of your diving adventure through these paradise islands combined with the very best on board service.
Our motto, “your best diving holiday”.

The launch

We prepared our first season in 2018 with an incredible crew with Julien who has explored each corner of our spots during 3 seasons on the same boat and Christelle also trained on this boat. I would like to warmly thank them for their commitment, professionalism and the solidarity they all have shown me. It wasn’t easy and we were able to face the obstacles and difficulties of creating such a company. You guys rock !

Now everything is on track and we can only wish “Long life to Scuba Libre Adventures“.

Wanna dive with us ?
